BYOP HOSTS
David Geiss
is the Executive Director of CineVic Society of Independent Filmmakers. He holds an MFA in Screenwriting, a BFA in Film & Video Production, and his short films and documentaries have screened across Canada and around the world over the past two decades.
CineVic is an artist-run society supporting Victoria’s independent filmmakers and media artists with accessible programming, affordable equipment, professional development resources, and cinematic exhibition opportunities since 1991.
Tony Ruffolo
has been a Team Lead for VFF since 2005 and part of the Pre-Screening Committee for the past 8 years. He has been a Sips’n’Cinema host for the past 3 years. He holds a Media Tech Certificate in Film Studies from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. He was an on air video editor for the Canadian Multilingual Network Omni Television for two years. He has lived in Victoria for 24 years and is the Manager of Media Support Services at Royal Roads University where they produce photo and video productions.
Kinga Binkowska
Before joining the VFF, Kinga Binkowska helped establish the Queen of the Square, an arthouse cinema in Stratford, Ontario, where she served as programming director. Binkowska has been part of the programming team at the Zurich Film Festival since 2012. She holds an MFA in Media and Film Production from École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris and MFA in Media & American Studies from the University of Lodz.
